About the destination
Fish over 10 kilograms is a real success: it requires patience, luck and, nevertheless professional skills. Fish over 100 kilograms is a dream of all anglers. However it is not easy to achieve this goal, first of all you need to find appropriate water. The only sweet water fish in Europe reaching this weight is the catfish, and River Ebro in Spain is one of the few fishing waters in the world where this dream can come true.
According to the latest estimations there are some 5 million catfish leaving in the river. Adventure Fishing invites you to a picturesque small town, Mequineza, where the two rivers, Serge and Ebro meet each other. The best periods are April-May and October-November, you can catch over dozen fish in weight 25-50 kilograms or bigger. To be able to catch these beautiful creatures you need to find the right methods: really strong equipment and the right baits.
Another popular fish in the Rivers Caspe and Ebro is the carp. Their estimated number is around 30 million, nevertheless they belong to the favourite delicates of the catfish. A strange situation that it is really hard to catch carp for bait in weight of 1 or 2 kilograms, because most of them are around 10 kilos, which is a good new for carp lovers.
There is a remarkable number of pike perch, many of them in 5-6 kilograms weight. Another unique fish is the black perch, their weight can reach 1-3 kilograms. They are the number one dessert of the catfish.
Seasons, when to plan the trip
We can angle catfish all year round, though the best months are April-May and October-November. Best period for pike perch is between March and November, capr can be caught during the whole year.
How to get there
We can either drive by own car or fly with one of the low-cost or traditional airlines. If we choose driving, the distance from Central-Europe is about 2000 kilometres. We can fly directly to Barcelona from most of the European capitals and rent a car at the airport for reasonable price. The camp is situated only 210 kilometres from Barcelona Airport, we can arrange return transfer to our camp upon request. Caspe is further 35 kilometres from Mequinenza. There low cost flights from UK and Ireland to Zaragoza as well.
Accommodation
We provide accommodation both in Mequinenza and Caspe, which are the best professional fishing centres along the Ebro. Both fishing camps are led by professional anglers. There are different accommodations: from simple bungalows to well-equipped apartment with swimming pool. There are good restaurants and a well-equipped tackle shops in both towns.
Boats
We provide comfortable boats with 15 HP. There are some 30 well maintained boats in the camp, with all the permissions. With the help of these boats it is easier to find the catfish, carps and pike perch.
About the rules
Adventure Fishing highly recommends Catch & Release angling, however we are not against to prepare food from our own catch occasionally. It is not allowed to use live fish baits. Fishing is not allowed between midnight and 6 a.m.

**The full guided tour includes all the basic tour services plus 5 days professional guiding, fishing equipment, breakfast, plus bedsheet and towels in the apartment. Further discounts in case of booking of 5 or more anglers.
The above prices are valid during the main season, between November and March there are incredible discounts, the basic tour costs only 295 EUR p.p in case of booking of 3-4 anglers!
